There were so many things that stood out to me in this chapter. The biggest thing that stood out, however, was the idea on p. 101 that another translation of 1 Timothy 4:5 says that "Nothing [created by God] is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving. I don't know how many times I have heard that thanksgiving is the key to happiness, and my head knows this, but for some reason, when I need happiness, it takes me so long to get to the point of thanksgiving. I think what I realized can help make thanksgiving a habit is to do what Ray said G.K. Chesterton says on p. 104. Chesterton said, "You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the play and the opera, and before the concert and pantomime, and before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing; and grace before I dip the pen in the ink. I think this can help make thanksgiving a habit because Chesterton says that he "says grace" before every activity he ever does. I think approaching Thanksgiving this way can help everyone view everything created by God as GOOD; and because of Christ, it has all been REDEEMED!
