Hey, friend!
The shop is now stocked with copies of Mere Christianity for you and your friends to pick up at your convenience!
We are about two weeks out from the book club starting up. Here is a tentative schedule for what sections of the book we will cover each week:
7/26 - 1 week out reminder post + preface reflections
8/2 - Book 1 (25 pages)
8/9 - Book 2 (25 pages)
8/16 - Book 3, part 1-4 (24 pages)
8/23 - Book 3, part 5-7 (26 pages)
8/30 - Book 3, part 8-12 (29 pages)
9/6 - Book 4, part 1-4 (24 pages)
9/13 - Book 4, part 5-8 (22 pages)
9/20 - Book 4, part 9-11 (26 pages)
As you can see, we will send out a reminder post a week before the official start date with some reflections on the preface and introduction sections, which you can read anytime. And then on August 2nd, the first post for discussion will go live!
Following this, there will be a post every Saturday with a reflection on the section of the book being covered that week with discussion below. Just have your reading done anytime during your week prior to Saturday, and join the dialogue on the post when you can!
ALSO, if you invite a friend to participate with you, every time you visit the shop for your meeting to discuss the section we are reading that week, you will get 10% OFF your drinks! Just show us your copies of Mere Christianity when you order and let us know you’re here to discuss the book.
While we want you to engage in the discussion and share your ideas, questions and insights on the website, we believe there is great value in people committing to meeting in-person (whether it is at the shop or not)!
We hope this book club serves as a tool to not only bolster personal knowledge, but promote fellowship and relational depth with others. Insight and community are equal aims in all this.
Therefore, we highly encourage you to reach out to that person you have been wanting to connect with, and invite them into this with you. There are few things that draw people closer than dialogue around deep matters.
So stop by the shop to grab your copy of Mere Christianity sometime in the next couple weeks and invite a friend or two or seven to be a part of this book club with you!
Let us know if you have any questions, and we can’t wait to share in this with you all!
