This book has been so refreshing. It has helped me take a look at happiness in a different way than I ever have before. I think Ray's thoughts from p 126 sum up the whole book beautifully. Especially where he talks about "if you have settled into the joyous wisdom of Ecclesiastes, you are now following Christ into freedom, gratitude, contentment, adventure, and bold enjoyment - all by his grace. I think walking in surrender with Jesus and taking everything he has to offer along the way and using that and walking in openness to him, which allows us to receive everything he has to give us in this life, I think that this allows us to live this "both/and" life and "long for heaven. and savor earth" like we were originally designed to do.
Book club has been so great. I know it helped me read this book in a way that I wouldn't have if I had just read it on my own. I made me stop and think about what I was reading, which made me focus more on what Ray was saying throughout the book. It has made me think about everything that we go through in life as part of the both/and experience and something we need to thank God for because it helps us become who designed us to be.
